Highlights: Health Choices First is a website provides a wealth of high quality patient education with exclusive health videos on different topics, which show an overview of conditions and treatment options. Furthermore, it provides a real-life case studies forum for doctors and patients to join in.

 

Addiction, Mental Health, Problem Gambling Treatment Services (Connex Ontario)

Highlights: Connex Ontario provides a system navigation and information through telephone service and online live chat 24/7. You can also do an advanced search for Ministry of Health Care-funded and other government-funded gambling, drug, alcohol, and mental health treatment services available in Ontario.

 

Big White Wall

Highlights: The Big White Wall is a platform that provides free online mental health support network for Ontarians 16+. It is self-guided, accessible 24/7 in a safe, anonymous community. No referral needed.

 

BounceBack

Highlights: The BounceBack program helps adults and youth 15+ to learn about mental health skills. Through online videos and telephone coaching, patients are able to learn about how to manage symptoms of mild to moderate depression and anxiety in multiple languages. Care providers can refer patients by completing the referral form, or patients can be self-referred as well. Throughout your coaching process, BounceBack will communicate with your health care providers by sending progress reports.

 

Good 2 Talk
- Post-Secondary Student Helpline

Highlights: The Good 2 Talk provides free, confidential and professional telephone counselling services to post-secondary students who have mental health, addictions and well-being concerns 24/7 everyday.

Psychology Today

- Find A Psycholotherapist in Ontario

Highlights: The Psychology Today not only provides a searchable database of registered psychologists in Canada for a variety of counselling needs, it also provides psychology resources on support, awareness, information and education.

 

Postpartum Support Internationl

Highlights: For parents who experience postpartum depression or women who experience depression or anxiety during pregnancy, this is a platform that provides expert support to parents by text or helpline. It educates the public on different mental disorders during/after pregnancy. Patients can also locate the local professionals in the directory, in order to match the specialities to their needs.

 

Sound Times

Highlights: The Sound Times is a place that locates in downtown Toronto, staffed and run by consumer/survivors with experience of mental health issues. It provides help to people with issues of mental health, substance abuse, justice, housing, and more. Patients can be self-referred or have your medical provider fill out the referral form, to help others to understand their background and need better. There is no waiting list.

Cota

Highlights: Cota offers a wide range of services to adults living with serious mental illness, geriatric mental health conditions, acquired brain injuries (including concussion), developmental disabilities and dual diagnoses. Services include case management, supportive housing, short-term residential beds, day programs, court and justice related services, an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team and services for individuals who are experiencing homelessness.

 

CMHA (The Canadian Mental Health Association)

Highlights: CMHA is one of the largest community-based mental health agencies in Canada, providing services and supports for individuals in the city of Toronto who are experiencing mental health challenges. Highlights: 18 free apps are designed to help improve mental health, which are selected by physicians and therapists of Scarborough Health Network. These apps are designed to complement prescribed treatment plans, and are not intended to replace any professional treatment.

 

National Eating Disorder Information Centre

Highlights: The National Eating Disorder Information Centre provides information and resources for Canadians of all ages on eating disorders. It also guides people to find professional help and support step by step. Live chat is also available on the website.

 

Pregnancy and Infant Loss Network

Highlights: The Pregnancy and Infant Loss Network is a provincial program that operates as a part of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre's DAN Women and Babies program, providing bereavement care and support to Ontario families who have suffered from pregnancy and infant loss, at no cost. They also offer workshops for health care professionals the information and tools, to help them provide the sensitive care required by the bereaved families they care for. Families can be self-referred to the program as well as by their health care providers.

Reconnect Community Health Services

Highlights: The Reconnect Community Health Services is a Toronto based community that provides services for seniors, caregivers, and people 16+, living with mental health and addictions concerns. Services catchment area: east of Highway 427, west of Yonge St., south of Eglinton Ave., and north of Lake Ontario. The team also serves Rexdale. See Access Point referral process.

Highlights: The Streamlined Access is a community-based agency that offers Mental Health Services, Developmental Services, Crisis Response Services and many other related resources.

Highlights: The Assaulted Women's Helpline offers 24-hour telephone and TTY crisis line to all women who have experienced abuse. Providing counselling, emotional support, information and referrals.

 Distress and Crisis Ontario (DCO)

Highlights: The Distress and Crisis provides a list of distress centres across Ontario for listening ears to people who are thinking about or affected by suicide. Many centres also connect people in all age groups to support programs and services in their local areas.

 

Crisis Services Canada - Suicide Prevention and Support

Highlights: The Crisis Services Canada offers 24/7 toll free telephone support, daily text support 4pm-12am ET to people who are thinking about or affected by suicide.

 

Gerstein Crisis Centre

Highlights: Locating in two locations of Toronto, Gerstein on Charles and Gerstein on Bloor, providing 24-hour community-based crisis services for adults 16+ in the City of Toronto, who are dealing with mental health, concurrent, or substance use issues and are currently in crisis.
